Proverbs 11:5-6

5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

To direct a path means to make it plain and clear. This means that doing righteous acts will help lead us into further righteous works. The wicked, by contrast, will get tripped up by their deceptions because they cannot see the consequences of their foolish actions.
