Paul teaches us in Romans 12 that in order to be All In for the Lord we must be different than the rest of the world. He tells us that, not only should we not conform to the world’s opinion, we must transform ourselves to be more like Him.

The way we do this is to renew our minds. The word actually means to renovate like you would an old house. We need to get rid of the rotten stuff and replace with strong things that can help us. If we simply try to add God’s word to the world’s opinion, we are setting ourselves up for misinterpretation of Scripture and disaster. We need to use God’s word as our guide for life and throw away whatever is not consistent with the Bible. The best way I have found to do this is to read the Bible more than you read man’s words and go to church more than you go to be entertained by television, movies, or sporting events.
