Our Pastor

Elder Ward Rowell

is part of a long Texas history of able men called to preach God’s grace. His great grandfather Elder W.J. Ward starts the list, followed by his grandfather J.A. Rowell, Sr. His father, Elder J.A. Rowell, Jr., raised Ward and his younger brother Mark (now Elder Mark Rowell) in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Ward and his bride guided their own son along the godly path. Andrew Rowell began his ministry and gospel journey in 2018.

Prior to accepting the call to Brentwood Hills, Elder Rowell was a member of Old School Primitive Baptist Church (Kennedale, Texas) as an aging congregation, Mt Zion in North Fort Worth merged with the stronger Old School flock. Elder Rowell had pastored Mt Zion from 2010 until the merge.

Ordained to the work of the full gospel ministry in 2006, Ward had been under the sound of the gospel his entire life, and active among the old Baptist church for many years, finally joining by baptism in June of 1972 near his home in Houston at Grace Primitive Baptist Church.

Before moving to the metroplex, Elder Rowell served churches in Houston, Snyder and Waco Texas.

Ward and his gracious wife Cathy have made North Texas their home, and they strive to make Brentwood Hills home to friends and visitors. There are no strangers among God’s people, only friends we haven’t met. Ward and Cathy let you know at the first introduction that you are one of those friends.
