I Believe In The Miracles Of The Bible

28 October 2014

"And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed." (Mark 1:40-42)

There are those who say you can preach the gospel and not believe in the miracles of the Bible. The problem with that is that the miracles were prophesied as the evidence of the true Messiah! (See Isaiah 35:4-6) When John was in prison, it was the miracles of Christ given to him as evidence that Jesus was indeed the Messiah.

“Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached." (Luke 7:22)

As Christians, we must believe every word of the Bible because it was spoken by God to the men who wrote it for us. Even though we may not see the exact same things take place today does not mean they didn't happen. And to say that the miracles of the Bible are just fictional stories and not necessary is to to deny the most needed miracle of all, SALVATION!
