"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith." (2nd Thessalonians 3:1-2)

"Not all men have faith" means what it says. It doesn't say that all men are given a little faith and must use it to accept or respond to God's offer of salvation. It says that some men DO NOT HAVE faith.

Jesus described those who had no faith as UNABLE to hear. It is not a question of obedience or refusal. Jesus said that it was a question of ability.

"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word." (John 8:43)

The Apostle Paul uses very similar language to Jesus:

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1st Corinthians 2:14)

The "natural man" is one who is dead in sin and has no faith. Therefore has no way to understand.

Those who teach that there is a spark of good in all men should look closely at this text. Yes, the gospel can and does change lives for the better. But that is for those who have been changed in the new birth and have faith.

There are some people who do not have faith, and they never will have faith. They hate the gospel. The hate the object of the gospel. They hate the believers of the gospel.

Paul desires that he, as well as other ministers, be delivered from these men who have reason.
